While scouring the Net, I found this article about a website that was set up to check people’s opinion about arranged marriages for underage girls. I did not know that so many states here in the US allow underage marriage but prosecute statutory rape.  I cannot express strongly enough how disgusting it is for adult males to even entertain the idea of marrying a girl as young as 13.  She most likely does not have enough mental, emotional, physiological, or just plain life experience to make this decision on her own. And any parent who would advertise their daughter to marry a man for money needs to be shot. Plain and simple.  Could you imagine?  Why not train her to be a drug mule or a hooker and let her go to jail for a couple of years if she is that much trouble? Talk about getting rid of your problems only to create new ones.

Like the author of this interesting article, I hope this starts people to talking about how important it is to keep our young people at their chronological age.  If you cannot imagine being married as a teenager, write your representative to have your state’s laws changed.  The website is called MarryOurDaughter.com, which according to its creator, was strictly experimental.  No personal information was gathered and the young maidens were fictional.
