Since Jazz is quite different from other music genres, understanding the different notes is crucial. You can begin with C note and can do it repeatedly while the left hand is moving on the chromatic scale. To make it better, you can also add E note until you reach the blue scale.
It will take you some time to learn how to play jazz music. The most important thing is to listen every part of the song. If you want to switch genres then you should put some serious efforts to get it right.
